Released on the 3rd of this month, 'I am God' is a documentary that captures the reality of pseudo-religious leaders, including Jung Myeong-seok, president of the Christian Gospel Mission (JMS), Kim Ki-soon, leader of Agadongsan, Park Soon-ja of the Odaeyang Incident, and Rev. Lee Jae-rok of Manmin Central Church Illuminated people.
In the 5th and 6th parts, the reality of Agadongsan, a collaborative village-type emerging religion founded by Kim Ki-soon in 1982, was drawn. According to the documentary, Kim Ki-soon drove believers to hard labor and reigned over them, and believers who went against their will were beaten to death by other believers.
One of the sources of profit Kim Ki-soon made was Synnara Distribution. It is known that the funds needed for the company were met with the profits obtained from exploiting believers. The record chain store operated here is Synnara Records. A former member of Agadongsan and a former employee of Synnara Records appeared in the documentary and said, “I swept 10,000 won bills beyond count.
Synnara Records is well known around the idol fandom. This is because it is gaining popularity by giving consumers who bought albums through its distribution network the opportunity to apply for a fan signing event.
The current chairman of Synnara Records is still Kim Ki-soon. Shin, the CEO, is Kim Ki-soon's closest aide and is known to have been in charge of accounting for Aga Dongsan in the past.
Kim Ki-soon was arrested and indicted on eight charges, including murder, but in 1997 he was found guilty of only five charges, including embezzlement, tax evasion, and violation of the Farmland Act, and was sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of 6 billion won. She was acquitted on charges of murder and fraud due to lack of evidence.
On the other hand, after the release of 'I am God', it ranked first in the top 10 rankings in Korea and is drawing attention.
