The police admitted that they begin investigating G-Dragon without any physical evidence. However, they drew the line that it was not an unreasonable investigation as people start to question their process.
A police official said at a press conference at the National Police Agency on the 13th, “The investigation of drug crimes involves not only the results of the National Forensic Service’s analysis, but also the statements of those involved and forensic data to determine whether there is a charge.”
He explained, “However, the investigation is not easy because the fact was known during the pre-booking investigation before clear evidence was secured, but the investigation is being conducted in accordance with legal procedures.”
A police official explained, “It is true that we started the investigation based on statements alone, without clear physical evidence,” but added, “There are (related) statements, but we cannot not confirm them.”
He continued, “In order to confirm this, we began an investigation before filing the charges, and it became known (through the media),”.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon was booked based solely on Mr. A's statement. According to Channel A on the 10th, Mr. A said in a police investigation, “In early December of last year, after Mr. Jiyong Kwon went to the restroom of the business, a suspicious packaging was found in this restroom,” and “Immediately after that, Mr. Kwon’s behavior was also strange.”
