On the 14th Nov, Hyungwon is slated to enter the army's basic training camp. Following the completion of his foundational military training, Hyungwon will be deployed to serve in active duty.
Early on, Hyungwon sought to share his contemplations regarding his upcoming enlistment with his fans. Making use of the official MONSTA X fan cafe platform, he noted, 'This message, out of all I have written up to this point, feels peculiar and distinctive. I will be enlisting on the 14th. Having witnessed the enlistments of my fellow group members has provided me with a sense of relief rather than disappointment. Observing them undergo this process has helped me prepare myself mentally for my own enlistment.'
He further expounded on his thoughts and goals for his military tenure stating, 'I have set a goal to return as a dependable and formidable individual, capable of facing any storm that comes our fanbase MONBEBE's way. I aim to stay healthy and endure the separation we will endure, drawing strength from the love and support MONBEBE has always shown me. Their encouragement has been instrumental in my growth and I owe them an immeasurable debt of gratitude. I want to convey my sincere thanks and utmost love to all of them.'
Hyungwon becomes the fifth member from MONSTA X to enlist for mandatory military service, a practice that is required of all South Korean men. Shownu, another group member, completed his social service duty and was honorably discharged in April of this year. Fellow members Minhyuk, Jooheon, and Kihyun are presently in active duty, bravely serving their country. The fans eagerly await their safe return, while extending their support and best wishes to Hyungwon for his upcoming journey.
