In the romantic comedy Asian Persuasion, the actress takes on the role of a divorcee in New York City, in the aftermath of her falling out of love with her luckless ex-husband. Soon, he hatches a matchmaking plan to break out of his alimony–cue hijinks, with a touch of Filipino drama sensibilities.
