Vice Ganda, Binibining Pilipinas 2023 queens and Miss International 2023 3rd Runner-Up Nicole Borromeo, joined by Araneta’s Executive and Quezon City officials, kicked off the lighting ceremony of the iconic Giant Christmas tree in Araneta City last November 10, 2023. 

According to Araneta’s marketing management, the towering Christmas tree, adorned in gold, silver, and a touch of red, radiates the colors of the Yuletide season. 

It boasts 7,500 warm white LED bulbs, 20,000 white gold glossy Christmas balls, 250 red and gold stars, 3,000 fine garlands, and 300 sputicks and snowflakes. 

Adding to its charm, a golden car cell underneath the tree symbolizes the return of the classic fiesta carnival to its roots.

“With the Philippines having month-long celebration of Christmas in the festivities that come with it, our country’s Christmas season is like nowhere else in the world. Definitely Christmas in Araneta City is like nowhere in the Philippines,” Marjorie Go, Vice-President for Marketing of Araneta City. 

She emphasized the desire to make Araneta City feel like home for the public during Christmas. 

Prior to the grand lighting, guests participated in a blessing ceremony of the Giant Christmas Tree to honor and welcome the Christmas season. And attendees were treated to lively performances by mascot characters from international and local fast-food chains, adding a touch of whimsy to the occasion.

The event lineup featured a variety of performances from local celebrities and an online sensation, promising fun and smiles for the Filipino audience.
