Actors Jo In Sung, Han Ji Min, Lee Si Uhn, and others have participated in a coal briquette support volunteer service.
On the 2nd, the volunteer group Gilbeot and the international relief organization Korean JTS conducted a coal briquette support service from 1 PM to 3 PM for the residents of Guryong Village in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event was organized for broadcasters, filmmakers, and theater artists.
Gilbeot has consistently conducted JTS street fundraising campaigns twice a year, on Children's Day and at the end of the year, but the past few years have been marred by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, following last year, writer Noh Hee-kyung, actors Jo In Sung, Han Ji Min, Lee Si Uhn, Cho Hye-jung, Im Se-mi, Lee Sang-hee, Baek Seung-do, and 150 others joined JTS in the coal briquette support volunteer service.
Despite their busy schedules, the celebrities who attended expressed,
"It's great to be able to help like this. I am moved by the continuous effort of passing the coal briquettes."
Writer Noh Hee-kyung, who has been volunteering with Gilbeot since 2004, said,
"I want to do it again, or rather every year. I enjoyed the coal briquette sharing that spreads warmth more than anything. I am very grateful for this opportunity."
On December 2nd, Gilbeot delivered 200 coal briquettes to each of 20 households, totaling 4,000 briquettes. The event was conducted in compliance with the government's epidemic prevention guidelines, and no prior promotion was conducted as it took place in a village where people actually reside.
