Park Yoochun, Silent on Tax Arrears, Now Hosting a Dinner Show in Japan – The Troubled Star Marks 20th Anniversary with an Event in Japan.
Park Yoochun is preparing to meet fans in Japan, embarking on a fan meeting combined with a dinner show.
Celebrating his 20th anniversary since debut, Park Yoochun will hold a fan meeting called ‘Re.birth’ on February 9th and 10th, 2024, at a restaurant in Tokyo, Japan. On February 11th, he will host a dinner show titled ‘Rhythm -with one heart-.’ Park Yoochun’s team announced, “The event in Japan is decided to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Park Yoochun’s debut.”
They added, “We will cherish the joy of reuniting with the fans in Japan and promise to present a stage that can only be seen at this moment, symbolizing the unity of Yoochun’s heart with that of the fans.”
The fan meeting, which will take place over four sessions, is priced at approximately 210,000 won (approx.155 US dollars), and the two-session dinner show is about 460,000 won (over 355 US dollars).
After being sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence for drug abuse allegations in 2019, he retired from the entertainment industry but continues to remain in the public eye due to various issues. Recently, he was embroiled in controversies involving a romantic relationship and breakup with a wealthy Thai woman and tax problems. According to the National Tax Service’s list of high-income and habitual tax defaulters released on the 14th, Park Yoochun has not paid five taxes, including capital gains tax since 2016, totaling over 3 hundred thousand US dollars (400 million and 900 thousand won) in arrears.
Especially, Park Yoochun’s brazen move to proceed with the fan meeting and dinner show without addressing the tax evasion controversy has led to increased criticism.
