If you've noticed, some of the most recent K-Pop idol groups don't have their own "story universes"!
The concept of having a "storyline" that accompanies the music of K-Pop acts was a popular trend until a year so ago, but with a new generation of K-Pop acts coming onto the scene, trends have also changed.
For SM Entertainment's youngest boy group RIIZE, not having their own, expansive "story universe" may actually be exceptional, rather than the norm! (Take for example, EXO and NCT.) Not to mention, SM Entertainment was one of the first K-Pop companies to conceptualize the idea of "elaborate stage names" with the launch of TVXQ.
Well, one of the group members has decided to just come up with elaborate, fantasy universe stage names for the members of RIIZE himself!
It all started when Eunseok revealed during RIIZE's recent fan meeting that he had always had a stage name he wanted to debut with: "Black Shadow".
Afterward, he began coming up with equivalent(?) stage names for the rest of his team members, until all six members had their own, fantasy universe names.
As of now, all six members have changed their Weverse IDs to their new stage names! They are:
Sungchan = Electronic Zephyr
Anton = Michæl of Healing
Sohee = Emperor of Darkness, Darkness
Wonbin = Star of Total Darkness, Darkbin
Eunseok = The Shadow of the Abyss, Black Shadow
Shotaro = Fire Tornado, Hector
In fact, the RIIZE members jokingly(?) introduced themselves using these new stage names(?) during their comeback special Weverse live:
