BLACKPINK's Jenny recently announced that she is starting a new label.
The singer officially announced the launch of her own label, ODD ATELIER, on April 24th via social media.
"After a year filled with so many things to be thankful for, a new year is about to begin," Jenny wrote, "and starting in 2024, I will be starting my own company called OA to pursue my solo career."
Previously, Jenny and her fellow BLACKPINK members signed an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment for group activities.
As a result, Jenny will launch a full-fledged solo career under her new label, while her BLACKPINK activities will remain with YG.
On February 2nd, Jenny appeared as an invited guest on the first taping of KBS2's music program "The Seasons - Hyori's Red Carpet," where she shared the story behind her recent establishment of a one-person agency. Jenny said, "I carefully established my company because I wanted to have more freedom to do my own activities.” and, "I wanted to challenge myself and ask myself what I could do on my own, and I had the courage to do it," she explained, adding, "It's exciting to be on the microphone for the first time. Please give me a lot of support,"
Meanwhile, due to the long-standing feud between her former agency, YG Entertainment, and KBS, YG singers have not been seen on KBS, so this is Jenny's first appearance on a KBS music program. Therefore, it is particularly significant that her first broadcast after her solo career is on KBS.
