Actor Kang Kyung Joon, previously entangled in allegations of adultery while holding the image of a devoted husband, has received a settlement offer from the court. However, uncertainty looms over the possibility of reaching an agreement as the husband of the alleged adulteress opposes the mediation process.
On February 6 KST, the Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 209, decided to refer both Kang Kyung Joon and Mr. A, the husband of the suspected adulteress, to mediation. This referral aims to facilitate a resolution through mutual agreement, potentially addressing the 'suspicion of adultery' allegations.
Previously, on December 23 last year, Mr. A sought damages of 50 million won, citing Kang Kyung Joon's alleged involvement with his wife. It was disclosed that Kang Kyung Joon and Ms. A had worked together at a sales agency.
Despite remaining silent for nearly a month following the allegations, Kang Kyung Joon submitted a lawyer, lawsuit and power of attorney to the court on January 29, indicating a decision to pursue legal action amidst the ongoing controversy.
However, Mr. A recently expressed his lack of intent to settle in a media interview, casting doubt on the prospects of court-mediated resolution due to the opposing party's stance on litigation. Attention now turns to whether Kang Kyung Joon can negotiate an amicable agreement with the plaintiff.
