Yoo Ah In's longtime friend claimed the actor used his own sister's name to acquire drugs.
On March 5, Yoo Ah In attended his third trial at the Seoul Central District Court along with his acquaintance 'A', who is also indicted on the charges of violating drug laws. The actor is under suspicion of habitually abusing propofol, midazola, ketamine, and remimazolam a total of 181 times by using the excuse of sleep anesthesia for cosmetic procedures. He's also facing 40 counts of acquiring prescriptions under other people's names, destroying evidence from acquaintances, and smoking marijuana.
During the trial, clothing business owner 'D' appeared as a witness and claimed he had picked up drugs for Yoo Ah In under his sister's name. 'D', who is 7 years older than Yoo Ah In, stated he had been friends with the actor for the past 17 years. According to 'D', he used the identity of Yoo Ah In's sister to acquire prescriptions for Stilnox tablets, which is known to be abused, for the actor. 'D' stated, "It seems I went to the hospital at Yoo Ah In's request to receive it for his sister. I don't remember the details."
'D' is also accused of being involved in providing funds for YouTuber 'B' to escape drug abuse accusations.
In other news, the doctor who administered propofol to Yoo Ah In on multiple occasions is facing 3 years in prison.
