Jisoo from BLACKPINK introduced the main points of the first album [ME] one day ahead of her solo debut.

Jisoo will release her first solo album [ME] on March 31st at 1 pm (Korean time). The title song 'FLOWER' and the b-side song 'All Eyes On Me' were recorded.

Jisoo, who spent a long time participating in the overall production process of the album, said, "It was a fun journey to find the music that I do best and only I can do. I hope listeners will also discover a new Jisoo."

[The following is Q&A with Jisoo]

Q. As it is the first album to be released as a solo artist 'Jisoo', it must be a new feeling. How do you feel about the comeback?

A. Every time a teaser was revealed  I also waited for the reaction of the fans. I'm excited to finally be able to show you the things I've been preparing for a long time. If fans are happy when they receive this album filled with 'Jisoo', I would be very happy.

Q. Please introduce your album [ME].

A. "What is the charm of the solo artist 'Jisoo'?" While preparing for the album, question marks floated around in my head. I wanted to show a new and diverse side of myself while protecting myself. It is an album of 'me' itself, created after a lot of trouble to look inside and express it. I participated in the overall part of the album, and I worked with that kind of determination from beginning to end. As I go through the process of discovering new charms that I didn't know about, I feel myself growing and becoming stronger.

Q. What is the most important part of the album?

A. I thought about what I could show as a solo artist rather than a Blackpink member, and I captured the colorful charms that only I, Jisoo, can show. While constantly developing  'music that I do well and only I can do', I discovered a new 'me' within it. I completed an album that contains my story by coming up with ideas for everything from music to concept, styling, and music videos.

Q. What kind of songs are the title song 'FLOWER' and the b-side song 'All Eyes On Me'?

A. I chose 'FLOWER' as the title song because it is a song that expresses me the best, with vocals, performance, and visual elements that go well together in all aspects. From the first time that I heard the demo in the studio, something came to me like fate. It's a dance song, but the lyrics are deep, so it has an unexpected charm, and the hook part is very addictive. The affection for 'All Eyes On Me' is so special that it was prepared as a candidate for the title track. Feeling cheerful yet deadly? I think a lot of people will like it as much as I do.

Q. You set a new record even before your comeback. The number of pre-orders exceeded 1.3 million copies, achieving the highest number ever for a single album by a female K-pop solo artist.

A. Every time I hear the modifier 'first', my heart flutters and I am amazed. I am grateful that so many fans are cheering for me and looking forward to it, and I feel that I need to work harder. To repay that expectation, I am doing my best until the end. Through the world tour, last year's finale and this year's start are with fans, and I'm so happy to release a solo album. It wasn't prepared with the season in mind, but the timing was perfect as the album was released in the spring when 'flowers' bloom. Good start! (laughs)

Q. The music video is a hot topic starting with the teaser, so if you could explain the focus points?

A. It's rewarding because it seems to have come out satisfactorily. It was all-location in the United States, but I remember a lot from the set on the streets of Universal Studios New York. Filming in an empty street made me feel like I was in the world of The Truman Show. To give a little spoiler about the music video. There are various indexes. (Laughs) It will be fun to discover something new every time you watch it.

Q. What kind of support did the BLACKPINK members give you?

A. Even in the midst of being busy, they always watched over the preparation process and gave various opinions. Seeing the members' positive reactions, I gained great courage and confidence. Rosé, who happened to be in LA, also came to the music video set. It was nicer to meet a member in an unexpected situation. I was always with the members, so I feel a little lonely when I was filming alone, but as soon as I saw Rosé, my energy seemed to be 100% charged (laughs).

Q. Do you have any plans or goals for this activity?

A. First, met fans as a solo artist Jisoo. That alone has already achieved its goal. If there's one thing I want more, it's to increase the 'happiness index' of our Blinks! We prepared an event for our fans and wrote a message for Blink in the album. It's not easy because we're on a world tour, but we're working hard to create opportunities to communicate more closely with fans besides the stage. I hope you can join and gain energy.

Q. A word to the fans who always support you.

A. I finally came to meet our Blinks!? (Laughs) I know very well how long fans have been waiting for my song. I also enjoy every day because I think I will face new excitement. Thank you Blink for always being my strong supporter. Let's make a lot of good memories together!
