Jimin, 1st place on ‘M Countdown’ for 2 weeks in a row

Jimin, a member of the group BTS, took first place on Mnet's 'M Countdown'.

Jimin's first solo album 'FACE' title song 'Like Crazy' and the b-side song 'Set Me Free Pt. presented on stage.

In an interview with MCs Jooheon and Miyeon before his stage presentation, Jimin expressed his feelings about winning first place on "M Countdown" last week. Jimin said, “First of all, I am so honored and grateful.”

He also introduced the new song himself. Regarding 'Set Me Free Pt.2', Jimin explained, "It's a song that contains the will to overcome the emotions I felt. The song is very intense and the performance is cool, so I'd be grateful if you could look forward to it."

Then, regarding the title song 'Like Crazy', he said, "The melody is very cheerful, but it is a song with emotional lyrics, so it will be very attractive. Please love it."

Jimin said, "Thank you very, very sincerely" for being nominated for No. 1 for two weeks in a row”. When asked to talk about their promise to win first place, he replied, “If we win first place, I´ll do choreography that will make our fans jealous”.

At the end of the broadcast, Jimin becomes the first-prize winner. Jimin, who received the trophy, said, "Thank you. Thank you so much for giving me such a big award last week. I came to the live broadcast as a surprise today, and I sincerely thank the fans for coming to see me like this."

He continued, "Since there are no members, I'm very nervous on my own, but it's such an honor to win first place, and I'll try to become a me who can grow in the future. Thank you so much to all the composers, staff, and people involved in 'M Countdown' who helped me this time. Please keep loving BTS al lot"

With this, Jimin reached the top of 'M Countdown' for two weeks in a row. Previously, on 'M Countdown', which aired on the 23rd, 'Set Me Free Pt.2' won first place.

On the 24th, Jimin released 'FACE' and made his official debut as a solo singer. The title song 'Like Crazy' topped the iTunes Top Song Chart in 111 countries and regions around the world, including the US, UK, and Canada (as of 9:00 am on the 25th), and the album 'FACE' topped iTunes in 63 countries and regions. It peaked at number one on the album chart.

It also broke its record on the US Billboard's main single chart 'Hot 100'. After the pre-release of 'Set Me Free Pt.2', it entered the 30th place on the latest chart of 'Hot 100' (as of April 1st).

Jimin set the record for the highest sales by a solo artist in 2023, occupying the top spot in Japan's Oricon weekly album rankings.

Meanwhile, Jimin will appear on 2TV 'Music Bank', and SBS 'Inkigayo' on April 2nd. Mnet digital studio M2 studio dance content 'BE ORIGINAL (non-original)' is also scheduled to be released in April.
