Jimin (BTS) settle a milestone in the history of Korean popular music with the title song 'Like Crazy' on his first solo album.
According to the latest US Billboard chart released on the 3rd (local time), the title song 'Like Crazy' of Jimin's solo album 'FACE' released on March 24th took first place on the main single chart 'Hot 100'. Jimin previously ranked second on the main album chart 'Billboard 200' with 'FACE'.
According to Billboard, Jimin became the first Korean solo artist to top the 'Hot 100', and 'Like Crazy' was recorded as the 66th song in Billboard's history to enter the 'Hot 100' and go straight to No. 1.
'Hot 100' is Billboard's main chart that aggregates single rankings by integrating streaming, radio broadcasts, and sound source sales (downloads and CDs) 'Like Crazy' CD sales totaled 254,000, streamed 10 million times, and radio aired 64,000 times.
Billboard said, "Jimin has joined the ranks of artists who won first place on the 'Hot 100' as a team and solo."
Jimin, ranked 30th on the 'Hot 100' (as of April 1st) with the pre-released song 'Set Me Free Pt2.
Through 'FACE', which contains his honest story, Jimin revealed his color in both singing and performance, proving his ability.
'FACE' sold 1.02 million copies on the day of release alone, becoming the first album by a K-pop solo artist ever to become a 'million seller' on the first day of release since Hanteo Chart started counting. The album also ranked first in albums by solo artists with more than 1.45 million copies.
