This afternoon, J-Hope entered a recruit training center in Wonju, Gangwon-do, to receive basic military training and served as an active-duty soldier. With this, J-Hope will be the second member of the team to serve in the military after his Jin, who enlisted in December last year.

The entrance ceremony at the boot training center is a place where a large number of service members and their families come together, and there is no separate official event to prevent safety accidents due to congestion at the site.

Prior to his enlistment, J-Hope said goodbye to fans through live broadcasts and handwritten letters.

He said, "A week ago, I thought, 'What should I do?', but now I'm really calm. I think that this kind of time is coming for me too. I was going to take a break for a little over two weeks to organize my stuff and finish things, but I didn't want to do anything and didn't have any free time mentally, so I was lethargic. Same. Right now, I am sleeping very well and eating well. Don't feel too sorry for me and I'm doing my duty as a strong young man in Korea, so I'll return healthy."

He continued, "Now, I am excited to have a new experience and to learn and study well in a new society. I think that I can become healthy because I am living a normal life with a different, normal pattern from my usual life."
