JYP Entertainment (JYP) will launch TWICE's first unit group, MISAMO, comprised of Mina, Sana, and Momo, on July 26. Prior to the official release of their mini album "Masterpiece," the group released the music and music video for the title track "Do not Touch" at 0:00 on July 14.
As of 7:00 a.m. on the 15th, the song was ranked #1 on Line Music's Real-Time Song Top 100 and AWA Music's Real-Time Song Chart in Japan, as well as the top spot on the iTunes Song Chart in 10 overseas regions including Vietnam, Argentina, and Spain.
. As of 5 p.m. on the day of release, the video was the No. 1 trending video on YouTube in Japan, followed by No. 2 in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Costa Rica. The online response to Misamo, the first unit from "global top girl group" TWICE and a long-awaited union for many K-pop fans, was also strong. Immediately after the release of their new track "Do Not Touch" and music video, the Twitter hashtag "MISAMO_DoNotTouch" trended at No. 1 in the Philippines, No. 4 in the U.S., and Malaysia, No. 7 in Vietnam, No. 9 in Brazil, and No. 5 worldwide.
They will be appearing on Japan's leading music program "Music Station" ("MSTE") on May 21, five days before their official local debut. "MSTE" has been one of the most popular music programs in Japan since its debut in October 1986. Mina, Sana, and Momo, who have made countless appearances on "MSTE" as members of one of the most popular local groups, TWICE, will be making their first appearances on the program as a unit. The trio will premiere a mesmerizing performance that showcases their fantastic synergy, heating up the debut fever.
The title track of Misamo's Japanese debut album, "Do not touch," is an R&B genre song that showcases the charm, color, and maturity of the three members. The song was written by JYP's chief producer Park Jin Young.
