"My two sisters are so fair so I grew up kind of, like, insecure," she shared in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph during an international beauty brand's event. She recalled that she would get teased during her younger years for her skin color.
"Parang feeling ko hindi ako maganda. Kasi parang nasa culture natin in the Philippines na pag maitim ka, hindi ka maganda. Mas maganda kapag maputi, diba?"
Despite how difficult it was, Ciara eventually learned to shrug off the comments and grew to love her morena skin. "I realized when I was growing up na parang, 'No, God made me unique,' diba?"
