NME, a renowned British music magazine, announced 'The 50 best songs of 2023' on its official website on December 4. NCT's DoJaeJung was ranked 45th and attracted attention as the only K-pop male artists to be listed.
NME said about "Perfume", "Unlike NCT's music, which has mainly presented experimental and colorful sounds, NCT's Do Jae Jung presented much softer music with 'Perfume'. Like the lyrics of the song, their song leaves a deep lingering impact on listeners."
In addition to NCT's DoJaeJung, the '50 Best Songs of 2023' include The Beatles, Lana Del Rey, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Troye Sivan, and Dua Lipa.
NCT's DoJaeJung, who debuted as a unit last April, not only took first place among K-pop units with their first mini-album 'Perfume', but also swept various charts, including first place on domestic album and music charts and first place on music shows. It received attention by being selected as one of the '15 best K-pop songs of 2023 so far' published by NME in June.
