Jimin, a member of the group BTS, revealed the secret story behind his first solo album.

On March 24, Jimin released an introduction video for his solo album 'FACE' through his agency Big Hit Music.

'FACE', which will be released nationally and on overseas music platforms at 1:00 pm on the same day, is the first official solo album released by Jimin, who started his singing career as a member of BTS in June 2013, after 10 years of debut.

Jimin said, "I've released solo songs, self-composed songs, and OSTs in the past, but it's the first time I've released a solo album, so I'm nervous, also excited to see how people will accept it."

Like the album's name, which has the dual meaning of 'face' and 'to face', Jimin showed various images and feelings in this new album, while looking back on the past and melting numerous emotions until he fully faced himself. In addition to the pre-released song 'Set Me Free Pt.2', the title song 'Like Crazy', 'Face-off' of the trap soul genre, 'Interlude: Dive' with a dreamy instrumental sound,  'Alone'. The album contains a total of 6 tracks included. 

Jimin also said, "This is an album filled with the various emotions I felt with my voice. Everything in this album was a new challenge. I prepared it with the desire to show a new and unexpected side of Jimin that many people expect.".

The first keyword in the album was the album title 'FACE'. Jimin said, "It has the meaning of ´face´, but it also means 'to face', and 'face to face'. I decided  'FACE' meant that I was able to face the true me by spending time facing myself completely." said.

The second keyword was 'resonance'. Jimin said,  "If you look at the album logo, it looks like a spreading concentric circle. In particular, it is an album made by looking into my inner self. Deep inside, it changes like big and small ripples. In that sense, my inner self It also means to deliver the album with my own voice," he explained.

Jimin then introduced 'first' as the third keyword of this album. Jimin said, "This is my first solo album, and I definitely feel a different feeling than when I release solo songs or self-composed songs from BTS`s albums. It would be nice if you could look forward to it as much as I tried for the first time and experienced many things for the first time."

Regarding the 4th keyword 'Alone', Jimin said, "This is an album filled only with my voice. It is also included as the 4th track on the album. It's Filled with a lot of empty feelings I felt during the pandemic. The fear I felt during the lethargic days contained a lot of emotions of worry. It was especially difficult to express and immerse yourself in the emotions at that time when recording. Fortunately, it seems that the desired feeling came out. It would be nice if you could listen to it and feel it."

The fifth keyword was 'behind the face'. Jimin said, "This is a video of the process of making an album. It's a video that captures the process of feeling and working while working with producer Pdogg and many composers around me, so I'd appreciate it if you enjoyed it."

In addition, Jimin said about the 6th keyword 'honest', "It means honest, sincere. I want to introduce my sincere feeling that I have not been brought out anywhere, the real Jimin is melted. Looking back at myself, my feelings are expressed honestly through music. After facing emptiness, loneliness, and wandering, it seems that I gained the will and strength to prepare for a new start. All emotional changes are sincerely contained in the album, so I hope you enjoy it.

On the 17th, before the release of the album, Jimin released one of the b-side songs, 'Set Me Free Pt2. Jimin said, "The genre is hip-hop. The lyrics are about shaking off the dark emotions inside and moving forward freely. With the addition of an orchestra sound chorus, it feels very grand from the start. Especially, I tried rap this time, and it was a new challenge, so it's an interesting appreciation point. I wonder if it will become a song. Especially since it's a song I'm attached to, it would be nice if you could enjoy it as well."

The next keyword was the title song 'Like Crazy'. Jimin said, "The genre of this song is synth-pop. The melody is easy and light, so I think you'll enjoy listening to it. It's a song that expresses the emotions of the moment when you turn away from reality and run away to forget the hurt. I don't know if you know the movie of the same name. I got inspiration from watching that movie. I paid a lot of attention to my emotions when I sang to convey the sadness in the lyrics. I hope you enjoy watching it."

The ninth keyword was performance. Jimin said, "I think there will definitely be a performance that many people expect from me. This time, I put a lot of effort into preparing not only the title song but also the performance of the pre-release song. The pre-release song showed a lot of grand, powerful, and somewhat tough sides. The title song " is flexible and delicate, and in a way, I think you can see the image you've seen a lot from me again. It's a very contrasting look, so I think it'll be fun to see it in comparison."

The last keyword was the fan 'ARMY'. Jimin said, "I hope ARMYs will enjoy it a lot, and I think it will be able to sympathize with ARMYs. Also, I'm thinking a lot that it would be a meaningful album."

To commemorate the release of his solo album, on the 24th and 25th, Jimin will appear on NBC's popular program 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' ('The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'). The stage of the title song 'Like Crazy' will be unveiled for the first time.

After that, they plan to communicate with fans through various music broadcasts, entertainment programs, video fan signings, etc.

Jimin said, "We are planning various activities, and we will show you the songs and performances that we prepared hard for on music broadcasts.
