Dino, a member of the popular group Seventeen, has recently shed some light on his decision to renew his contract with the band. He was joined by fellow band member Mingyu as a guest on Shin Dong Yup's entertaining Youtube show that aired on October 23 KST.
During their appearance, Shin Dong Yup enquired if the band members spent a great deal of time contemplating their future, to which Dino candidly admitted that he has. As the first of its kind, this 13-member band had all decided to renew their contracts together, which had raised several questions in Dino's mind about what the future held–whether they would continue as a band or eventually part ways.
Dino revealed there was considerable introspection before making this decision. "I've been wondering, 'what do I really want to do?' and I eventually realized that I couldn't possibly have as much fun working with any other people as I am doing with these members. I enjoy their company, genuinely so. This was a key reason I wanted to continue being a part of Seventeen as long as possible," he confessed.
Mingyu spoke up in support of this sentiment, sympathizing with the youngest group member Dino. He pointed out, "(Dino) had a really tough time growing up. But I see that he's matured now," reflecting the bond between Dino and his 12 ‘older brothers.’
Dino openly admitted that the band members occasionally quarrel, but Shin Dong Yup put a positive spin on this, advising, "Disagreements are part and parcel of any relationship. They contribute to bonding and growth. In the absence of clashes, there's a strong chance that a group might dissolve prematurely."
The news that the band renewed all its members' contracts simultaneously in July 2021 stirred quite a buzz in the music industry. Adding to this, they released their latest hit "God of Music" on the previous day, further solidifying their united front.
